Learned finance from the ground up.
My career began at an audit and tax advisory firm. That’s where I laid the foundation: training as a tax clerk, later heading client bookkeeping. Diligence, reliability on deadlines and an auditor’s eye for numbers still shape my work today.
Took on responsibility in the mid-market.
Fourteen years at an international logistics provider, from head of financial accounting to head of finance & administration. Responsible for accounting, controlling and administration with a team of up to 17 people, plus finance topics in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary. Budgeting, consolidated financial statements, bank relations and the introduction of a BI system were part of the job, as was leading people and processes.
Got to know international group structures.
Four years as Finance Manager at WestRock, now Smurfit Westrock. Responsible for accounting at several German sites, monthly, quarterly and annual closings, budget and forecast, and reporting to various management levels. SAP was a daily tool, along with taking on additional responsibility for further sites at short notice.
Today: both together.
Today I combine strategic responsibility with hands-on execution. I support companies remotely from Hua Hin, Thailand – mainly in German-speaking Europe – when experience is needed at short notice, processes need to be stabilised or someone has to take responsibility in finance. Not as a classic consultant, but as part of the team.
